Neuromuscular Massage Therapy
Neuromuscular massage therapy uses static pressure on specific points in the body to relieve pain.

Here I am applying pressure to the posterior mid thorax to release hidden pressure points under the scapula.
Pain has a few possible causes. Neuromuscular therapy is designed to address five of them:
- Ischemia, or a lack of blood flow
- Trigger points or irritated muscle tissue that refers pain to other parts of the body
- Nerve pressure or compression
- Poor posture
- Pain caused by exertion
Neuromuscular therapy can also relieve chronic headache pain. By applying pressure to the cervical lamina, as I am in the photo below, we can relieve the muscle tension that can cause headaches.
